of shallow, rectilinear wall remains. Carpeted with sherds of red
and buff plain ware, also a few grey pieces. Numerous grinding stones
in one area. Rooms 2-4m each side. Stones in walls not cut, but
some cut stones along 'road' which runs from outer 'town' wall to
summit.

1, 3, 6; Unworked chert; Glass ring fragment; Graveyard with many
graves, including very fine carved standing Chaukundi style tombs
and smaller field stone graves.
KNP/O10; Gabar; Hydraulic; Taung; 50m; 3-5m; 5m; Fair; 1; Remains
of dam wall between two natural rocky scarps. Wall is of loosely
packed field stones on two sides with rubble infill. Massive blocks
loosely placed abutting natural scarp.

chert; Massive cemetery with elaborately carved cut stone tombs,
field stone graves and modern concrete shrine(s?). At least 10 times

chert; Extensive scatter of brown chert tools both formal and informal
and cores. Few sherds, probably later than site occupation. Also

Several shell fragments – worked; Small (artificial) hill with field
stone walled enclosure on top, standing approx 50 cm high with opening
on east side. Some stone walls also on sides of hill - maybe retaining
walls. Extensive, rich sherd scatter - probably multi-period, Early
Bronze to Medieval.
KNP/O14; Irrigation Channel; Hydraulic; Taung; 1270m; 50-100cm;
50cm above ground; Fair; Above ground water channel constructed
of blocks of natural tufa (calcium carbonate).
KNP/O15;
Rattan Shah; Hydraulic; Taung; 100m; 50m; flat with raised hillock
approx. 10m high; Fair; 1, 3, 4, 5, 7; Brown chert; Field stone
walls, probably for enclosure for watering animals at spring. Modern
graves at south end. Two graves at north end not oriented N-S so
may not be Muslim.

chert; Extensive sherd scatter of common ware types. Some foundations
of stone walls. Field stone graves on top of small rise - probably
post-date settlement.

core of hog deer (not found in park); Rectilinear field stone walled
raised central enclosure associated with extremely rich and extensive
lithic scatter. Some sherds, probably of later date than the lithics.

chert; Rectilinear dry stone walled structure standing 4 courses
high. Two courses wide with rubble infill. Possible circular stone
structure/depression inside.

house on the road between Thatta and Sehwan.

rectilinear dry stone walled building. Very few artefacts.

wall three courses high with long central field stone 'grave' and
some field stone graves outside enclosure to the south.

stone walled enclosure.
KNP/O38; Unknown; Karchat; 20m; 8m; flat top of rocky rise; 1, 5
; Brown chert; Field stone structures of unknown purpose - one is
roughly round, one vaguely grave shaped. May be robbed out cemetery.

chert; Graveyard with mixture of carved cut stone, field stone and
concrete graves. Reuse of cut stones from earlier graves into modern
ones.

Jerar; Lithic scatter; Karchat; 15m; 15m; flat; Good; 1; Brown chert;
Rich scatter of brown chert flakes, blades and cores. Mostly informal
tools. One core has two reworked edges. Pottery probably belongs
to later use as cemetery, not to period of lithic scatter.

1; Brown chert; Extensive poorly defined scatter of informal tools
and waste flakes over natural terrain. Modern cemetery on top of
part of scatter (top of natural rise).

remains of standing dry stone walls. Scatter of pottery and chipped
chert tools. Stone mound/circles may be robbed out graves.

a brown stone ware bottle; Standing rectilinear dry stone wall,
4-5 courses high. Thin sherd scatter.
KNP/O44; Mortuary; Karchat ; 90m; 80m; Good; 1, 5, 8, 14; Brown
chert; Single field stone grave in single course of field stones
enclosure. Extensive thin scatter of informal lithics and pottery.
Separate hill across a shallow saddle to north has field stone mounds
and distinctly different pottery (probably much older than south
hill).

Colonial Mile Stone; Transport; Karchat; 21.5cm; 22.5cm; 38cm; Good
- some weathering of inscription; Standing cut sandstone with inscription
in English and Urdu. "Kerrachee LXXXVIII miles".
KNP/O46;
Wahi; Settlement; Karchat; 225m; 110m; Fair; 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9;
Brown chert; Rectilinear field stone wall foundations and intensive
sherd scatter. Sherd scatter continues across road and foundations
appear on both sides. Concentration of lithics with fine formal
tools including blades and microliths in NW of site.
KNP/O47; Colonial Rest House (Kajur Wari Landhi); Transport; Karchat;
20m; 20m; 1m; Poor; Ceramic water pipes; Glass; Ruined remains of
Colonial Government rest house on road between Karachi and Sehwan.
Cut stone building, but cut stone now all removed. Intensive scatter
of sherds, mostly water pipes.
KNP/O48; Osman Wari Bhutti; Structure; Karchat; 9m; 5m; top of hill
20m above plain; Fair; Temporary shelter (abandoned); Single flake
of green glass with worked edge approx. 1cm long; Standing field
stone structure of unknown purpose. Recently reused.

Mortuary; Karchat ; 250m; 95m; Fair; 1; Brown chert; Three graves
on top of hill. Small cemetery at base of hill (south side) cut
by modern road. No sherds. Lithic scatter on hill top. KNP/O50;
Settlement; Karchat; 10.40m; 9.20m; 50cm; Poor; 1; Brown chert;
Rectilinear field stone walls standing 2-3 courses high.
KNP/O51;
Kotiro; Settlement; Thano Arab Khan; 230m; 190m; 10m above dry river
bed; Fair; 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 16, 21, 22; Brown chert; Extensive
site previously excavated (30 years ago?). Low spreading artificial
or natural mound, with rectilinear stone wall foundations and large
amount of sherds and lithics.
KNP/O52; Kotiro Panhwor; Sherd Scatter; 105m; 65m; flat; Fair; 3,
5, 7, 9, 22; Cream chert - single very fine scraper; fragment of
baked brick; Scatter of pottery sherds. Modern cemetery located
on top.

Fair; 1; Brown chert; Scatter of informal brown chert tools and
a few formal blades. Some stones may be wall foundations in poor
condition.
KNP/O54; Rani Kot 1 (Western Gate); Defensive; Rani Kot; 500m; 5m;
Partially Restored; 1, 5; Brown chert; Standing sections of stone
walls. Cut stone. Lime cement mortar and render. Circular towers
at intervals along walls. Associated free standing fortifications
. Walls of roughly cut stone outer faces with rubble infill and
render.
KNP/O55; Shergar Kot; Defensive; Rani Kot; 155m; 3-4m; Good; 1;
Enclosed fort of cut stone walls with lime plaster render, arched
parapets, small arrow slits and circular corner towers.
KNP/O56; Rani Kot 2 (Living place); Settlement; Rani Kot; 112m;
75m; natural contour of land; Good; 1 ,6, 13, 23; Brown chert; Extensive
scatter of sherds and some wall foundations. Field stone graves
in south, probably not very old. Many painted rim sherds, one fragment
of chunky lamp spout, incised decoration underneath.
KNP/O57; Ameri Kot; Defensive; Rani Kot; Good; Military Post; Standing
fort of similar period to rest of Rani Kot. Modern military post,
therefore photography and GPS recording not permitted.
KNP/O58; Rani Kot 3 (Eastern or Sann Gate); Defensive; Rani Kot;
456m (north side); 5m; 3-4m; Repaired 1998/99; 1; Standing walls
north and south of exit to gorge (end of pass - plains to east).
Parts of wall show signs of rebuilding. Also associated secondary
defence wall running east/west along gorge inside outer walls. Much
less carefully constructed - dry stone and not cut (but standard
size and colour stones, earth and rubble core).
KNP/O59; Colonial Rest House; Transport/Mortuary; Thano Arab Khan;
500m; 300m; natural contours; Fair; 1, 4, 5, 8, 14, 15; Brown chert;
Glass (hand made); Same design as other colonial rest house (site
34) - single room, pitched roof, 3 arched doors at front, arched
windows either end, back plain. Evidence of earlier occupation also.
Extensive field stone graveyard to SW and field stone mosque building
(one course high). Some graves have petrified wood headstones.

all relatively modern.

Babro; Settlement; Kar (Malir); 450m; 150m; On two levels - natural
hill top approx. 5-6m over natural grassy basin; Good; 1, 3, 4,
5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 18; Brown chert, sandstone whetstone; Large
amount of bone, some burnt. One piece of thick white shell; Flat,
rocky hill top with extensive, rich sherd scatter, remains of standing
dry stone walls and numerous chert tools. Lower basin level has
extensive, sparse sherd scatter.

Lahout; Rock Art; Kar; 3m; flat; 3m; Very Good; Limestone deposition
through water flow; Red and reddish-black painted figures on a limestone
wall of rock overhang.
