Rani
Kot Radiocarbon Dating The radiocarbon analysis of the charcoal
sample from Rani Kot fort (site 54) was carried out by Bill Wilson,
Department of Geography, The University of Western Australia, Nedlands,
WA 6907, AUSTRALIA. The results of the analysis are summarised below.

Sample
pretreatment: Sample ground and treated with boiling HCl to remove
carbonates. Thus it can be seen that the construction of this section
of the fort probably dates to around 200 years BP, that is, sometime
in the first half of the nineteenth century AD.
